Hurricane Preparation Checklist

  • Review your homeowners and flood insurance policies before storm season (June 1)
  • Confirm your coverage limits reflect current replacement costs
  • Document your belongings with photos or video — store copies offsite or in the cloud
  • Know your insurance carrier's claims phone number (on your ID card)
  • Stock 7+ days of water, food, medications, and emergency supplies
  • Trim trees and secure outdoor furniture before a storm threatens
  • Know your Brevard County evacuation zone and route
  • Have cash on hand — ATMs may be unavailable after a storm
  • Charge all devices and portable power banks
  • Keep important documents (policies, IDs, deeds) in a waterproof container

Carrier Claims Contacts

Contact your carrier directly after a storm. Your policy ID card has your carrier's claims number — use that first. If you need help navigating the process, call our office.

Know Your Flood Zone

Brevard County has significant flood risk. Standard homeowners insurance does not cover flood damage. Check your flood zone and consider available flood coverage options before storm season.
